About arcade mode:

As you asked us last week, today we are explaining what will be the arcade mode you could see in the menu that we are preparing. The main difference between the arcade mode and the simulator mode will revolve around the physics, also affecting the control, since the simulator, as you know, will require a higher ability with the controller.

The arcade mode is designed for those beginners who start to play for the first time as well as for those who want a more fun and fast style, without requirements. Have in mind that the tournaments and competitions will be only in simulation mode, as it is aimed at those who want a challenge.

This functionality is under development and you will be able to test it (in a work in progress state) on the coming beta.

New stadium:

Finally, we show you a few images (work in progress) of the Palau San Jordi that we are recreating to get inside the game. Among other things, it will be scene of the park editor. For more details, stay tuned to the next posts on the blog.

Latest news: new setting menu!

Hello everyone! We’re back one more Friday to let you know the latest BMX The Game development news produced here at Barspin Studios.

Today we want to show you the work done over the last few days in terms of optimization. This week is about the new way to adjust and configure the qualities of the game. In the pre-alpha versions you could only change the quality using a keyboard key (low-medium-high-ultra). If you wanted something more personalized, the option of changing an XML with multiple parameters was available too.

Now we have prepared a setting menu so everything can be easily modified in pause mode. It is much easier, intuitive, faster and with multiple adjustment options. This allows many more computers to run the game.

Let us show you a video of this down below. Have a good weekend!

Latest news: bug fixes, optimization, new bikepark.

Hello everyone! We’re back one more Friday to let you know the latest BMX The Game development news produced here at Barspin Studios.

This week we do not have much to show since it has been a week only dedicated to bug fixes and optimization. This requires a lot of work and it is very important, but actually it is not visual at all.

We are also working on a new bikepark that you will love very much; this will be in one of the squares of the city. We think we will be able to show it next week.

Finally, we have to say that little time is left until we can compile a complete build, in order for you to try it so you can also help us to find bugs in the game.

That’s all for now. Hapy weekend!

Latest news: first bike-city screenshots!

Hello everyone! We’re back one more Friday to let you know the latest BMX The Game development news produced here at Barspin Studios. This Friday we’d like to show the first bike-city screenshots.

Today let us show current state of the development with some screenshots. Notice that these images are taken directly with the Unity editor. This means that these images still do not represent the final quality of the game although we are very happy with the results we are getting so far and we are looking forward to compiling a version for you to try.

On the other hand, we have measured how much of the city we have created so far and it is not bad at all. To give you an idea, the preAlpha 0.184 had a size of 12K m2 and the new part right now is 240K m2.
